Chhaava Movie Review: Chhatrapati Shivaji's son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj (Vicky Kaushal), who faced the invasion of the Mughal kings on the Deccan and Maharashtra regions, sets out to establish Swarajya. Sambhaji successfully repels the attacks of Akbar and Aurangzeb's armies.
Unable to digest Sambhaji's superiority, the Mughal kings invaded the Maratha kingdom and declared war on Sambhaji Maharaj. He caused Aurangzeb (Akshaye Khanna) sleepless nights.
Story:
What kind of adventures did the Maratha emperors Shivaji and Sambhaji perform for the establishment of Swarajya? What kind of auspicious rule did they perform for the Maratha people? Following in the footsteps of his father Shivaji, what war strategies did Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj devise to establish Swarajya.
How did Sambhaji Maharaj face the strongest Mughal army? What moral support did his wife Maharani Yesubai give to Sambhaji in this war? The story of the film is how he finally showed his Mughal arrogance, his fighting skills, and Maratha manhood.
Analysis:
It can be said that the film tasted success only with the story chosen by director Laxman Ramachandra Utekar and the screenplay written accordingly. According to the director's vision, he started the story with a war and provided high action entertainment.
Right from the first scene, he made the film more emotional with action, emotions, and family values. It must be said that the emotions and dialogues spoken by the characters completely dominated in the first part. When it comes to the second half of the movie Chava... the entire war sequence was shot very wonderfully.
The scenes were arranged in a way that was new on the Indian screen. The pre-climax and climax episodes in the last 45 minutes of the film are the lifeblood of the film. The dialogues spoken by Sambhaji Maharaj and his main characters are jaw-dropping. The director's design of the climax scenes in a way that ignites patriotism and reveals manhood has taken the film to another level.
Actors Performance:
Vicky Kaushal showed his acting prowess. He looked manly and powerful in every scene. The special attraction of designing his look for this film was his amazing look. And for the last 45 minutes of the film, he performed his acting in a way that made people watch from above the screen without batting an eyelid.
He roared like a lion in some scenes. In the battle scenes, he once again showed what talent he has. Rashmika Mandanna, as Sambhaji's wife, once again appeared in a powerful role. It must be said that she was a highly emotional character. It must be said that her performance is beyond the national crush tag.
Diana Penty, as Aurangzeb's daughter Zeenat Unnisa Beganga, impressed with her eyes.. cruel gestures. Akshaye Khanna once again impressed in the role of Aurangzeb in a very heavy role. Everyone who played the rest of the roles felt they understood the nature of the character and lived it.
Technical Departments:
The music provided by AR Rahman for this film has greatly elevated the scenes. The background score and songs that ignite masculinity are the strongest points of the film. The cinematography provided by Saurabh Goswami has given the film a feeling that it is beyond a Hollywood movie. The production values followed by Madok Banner and Dinesh Vijan are of high standard.
Overall, Chava is an emotional war drama that expresses patriotism. The action scenes and dialogue parts in this film have become the highest points. It also tells the story of the sacrifices made by the Maratha warriors for the establishment of Swarajya in a very emotional way.
Those who know history and want to understand the anarchy during the Mughal rule should definitely watch this film. Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna have taken this film to another level with their performances. Watching this film in the theater will give you a good feeling. Don't miss it.
