Devara Movie Review: 'Devara' is directed by Koratala Siva and stars NTR in the lead role. The combination of these two in the past, 'Janata Garage', was a hit, so naturally, expectations have increased for this film. NTR's dual role and Janhvi Kapoor's Tollywood entry have become the main attraction of this film. Anirudh's songs have also gone down well with the people. Such a film has hit the theaters today.

Story:

It is the Andhra - Tamil Nadu region .. the Red Sea coast. Some people have been living on the hills there for a long time. The people, who have formed four villages, continue their lives depending on fishing. 'Devara' (NTR) is the leader who guides them. However, Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), who is not like him, is becoming the leader of another group.

Every year on the day of 'Ayudha Puja', there is a wrestling competition between those four villages. Two people from each town participated in the competition. Whoever wins, weapons will go to their village. They believe everything will be fine for their town because of the guns. However, it is noteworthy that Devar has been winning every year for many years. This is also one of the reasons why Bhaira's hatred for Devar grows.

It is in such circumstances that Murugan (Murali Sharma) enters their lives. Murugan makes a deal with Devar's team to steal goods transported in sea ships and deliver them to them. Hoping for the money he promises, many young men, including Bhaira, become pirates. After such a few times, Devar comes to know that what they are delivering to Murugan is weapons and that they are a great danger not only to their villages but also to society.

From then on, Devar changes. He tells his men that they should not steal weapons anymore and be satisfied with what they get from fishing. However, Bhaira and his close friends refuse to do as Devar says. Hoping for the money Murugan gives them, they prepare to go to sea. Every time, Devara stops them. Now, Bhaira and his followers decide that they must stop Devara if they want to live as they like.

Bhaira's men make a sketch to kill Devara. For this, they use Rayappa (Srikanth), who is very close to him. That night, Devara goes to the beach, but no one knows what happened to him. The people there only see the bloody writings he wrote on the sea saying that he is wanted. 12 years pass like this. Devara's son Vara (NTR) grows up. Thangam (Janvi Kapoor) loves him.

Since 'Vara' is a coward, Bhaira doesn't care much about him. He hatches a plan to bring Devara back from the sea. What is it? Will his attempt succeed? What has become of Devara? What does Thangam do to get Vara into trouble? That is the rest of the story.

Analysis:

This is a story written by Koratala Siva. The character of 'Devara' appears on the screen throughout the first half. The character of 'Vara' appears on the screen throughout the second half. Here and there, the goodman.. and the beach.. This story runs between these two. 1996 - The story starts in a hurry with an urgent meeting of police officers at the Bombay Police Headquarters. Devara's character makes an entry 20 minutes into the story. This is a big operation scene where the cargo on the ship is stolen. The audience is disappointed when this scene related to NTR's introduction ends blandly.

Weapon worship sentiment.. Thefts on the sea.. Bhaira's anarchy continues in the village. Devara, who is guarding the sea, prevents his people from coming to get weapons. Here, a doubt haunts.. Years pass after Deora disappears. Yet, it is surprising that everyone believes that he is on the sea. Where does he hide on the sea for so long? How is that possible? No one thinks about it.

Bhaira's patience for 12 years to bring Deora back from the sea seems like a movie. And it is another strange thing that Bhaira believes him when his son seems innocent. When everyone is waiting for Janhvi to make an entry, it is surprising that she comes like this in the second half and appears for a while. Prakash Raj .. Srikanth .. Shine Tom Chacko's characters are not important. Murali Sharma's character is also not important. There is a lot of gravity in the action scenes .. but they could not compose them differently.

The production values are good. Ratnavelu's photography must be said to be the main strength of this film. The scenes in the background of the sea .. the scenes related to the night effect .. the way the one duet is beautifully shot is impressive. Anirudh's background music is okay. The song 'Chuttamalle .. ' is good in the songs. The rest of the songs are good in terms of beat, but the music dominates without understanding the lyrics. In fact, Koratala is a good writer .. but only one or two memorable dialogues are heard in this movie. Although the excessive action scenes .. the disconnected emotions may cause some dissatisfaction to the rest of the audience, there are chances that NTR fans will like this movie.

Plus points: NTR's action .. photography .. background music

Minus points: The emotions are not connected, there is no substance in the important characters, confusion by naming too many characters right from the start of the story .. lack of logic .. lack of magic in the action scenes .. Janhvi's shine on the screen for a while.
