Sathyam Sundaram Movie Review: While ‘Devara’ was released with sky-high expectations and created a tsunami at the box office.. ‘Satyam Sundaram’ is a Tamil dubbed film that was released one day after ‘Devara’ without any expectations and just trusting in the concept. The fact that C. Premkumar, who directed a feel-good love story like ‘96’, is the director of this film, and good actors like Karthi and Aravindaswamy are acting in it, has increased the interest of a section of the audience in this film.
In addition, during the promotion of this film, he said that ‘Devara’ is a film like fire that will please the masses.. then our ‘Satyam Sundaram’ is a film like a lily. And this film has made Karthi’s words come true. Has C. Premkumar’s magic worked out again? Is ‘Satyam Sundaram’ a film that will please the masses? To get answers to these questions, we need to go into the story first.
Story:
Satyamurthy alias Satyam (Aravindaswamy).. A man who loves his roots and ties. He was born and raised in Uddanarayu Nipalem, near Mangalagiri, Guntur. That village, the house where he grew up, and that wind are the lifeblood of Satyamurthy. When he was still a teenager, Satyamurthy's family lost their home due to the betrayal of relatives. Unable to stay in that village, the Satyamurthy family moved to Vizag and settled down.
30 years pass there. Even after eight years, the memories of his hometown do not leave Satya. One day, news of a wedding comes to Satyamurthy's house. His uncle's daughter is getting married. In Uddanarayu Nipalem. He has to go. Satyamurthy feels that he has no relatives in that village except his uncle and his daughter. That is why.. he wants to go to the wedding and return in one night. While taking the gift, he goes to Uddandarayunipalem and searches for the wedding hall.. he meets a man (Karthi) who greets him affectionately as ‘Bawa..’.
Speaking as if he is a well-known person, he takes Sathya to the wedding hall. In fact, Sathya does not even know who he is or his name. If he knows that, he pretends to know him and somehow manages to do so. Seeing that man is arrogant and excessively arrogant, Sathya thinks that he is a fool and a fool. He tries to get rid of him somehow. The man who wanted to leave in one night... because of him, he has to stay in his house for another night.
In that one night, Sathya understands what he is. He realizes that he is a man like a white paper. Apart from sharing love, he understands that Theli is a great man. He realizes that he is a great personality who sees humanity not only in humans but also in animals and poisonous snakes. And what stage did their journey finally reach? How did Satyam come to know who he was and what his name was? How did Satyam come to know himself during that journey? The answers to these questions are the rest of the story.
Analysis:
This is a film that makes you feel like you are watching life on screen. Director Premkumar has tied you up with emotions. While watching the film, everyone remembers many of their own experiences. Childhood is remembered.. Relatives are remembered. Games played in the village are remembered.. Friends are remembered. The entire past life is relived before your eyes. Everyone faces the experiences that truth has faced in this.
This is a film that shows how much an impression formed in childhood.. affects a person's life. Circumstances.. responsibilities.. the struggle for life.. the world around.. these kill the truth in a person. They make us live in a lie. Only when we touch our corners again do we realize who we are? That is 'truth is beautiful'. According to this story, truth.. beauty are not different. One. The director showed how beautiful Satyam was in his village as a child.. through the character of Sundaram.
Loving animals, and birds, respecting relationships, worshipping the soil, admiring the home... Satyam is the combination of all these. When Satyam touched his roots in his village, he saw himself in Sundaram. We cannot help but appreciate director Premkumar for thinking so brilliantly. This film is a beautiful journey filled with many memories and emotions. It felt like seeing people on screen after a long time.
Actors Performance:
Now Karthi lived beautifully. He made me laugh.. He made me cry. It was not like watching a hero on screen. Only the character was visible. Acting like this is possible only for great actors. It must be said that Aravindaswamy Karthi did not lose anything. His acting was so good that everyone looked at themselves in the mirror. In this story, all the pain is in the character of Aravindaswamy. He cultivated that pain wonderfully on screen. All the other characters came to life on screen.
Technically:
This film is a wonderful poem born from the creation of director C. Premkumar. Unless you study a lot and love life a lot, you cannot write such stories. You cannot portray the written story so wonderfully. You will understand what happens when the right director makes a film with the right story. The background music and cinematography are all very well done. It would have been better if some attention had been paid to the songs. Anyway.. A true commercial film keeps the audience hooked with some emotion for two and a half hours. If you look at it that way, ‘Satyam Sundaram’ is a true commercial film. Satyam is always beautiful.
Strengths: Story, narration, actors’ performances, direction..
