Emma D'Arcy admitted that despite the challenges, the overall experience was enjoyable. However, her co-star Olivia Cooke openly expressed how difficult it was to play Alicent Hightower. Cooke described how at the end of House of the Dragon season 2 she felt completely exhausted and recognized the need to find ways to better manage the physical and emotional demands of the show, especially if there is a third season. The complexity of the characters and relationships within the plot, combined with the physically and mentally demanding nature of filming, makes it clear why Cooke and D'Arcy experienced increasing pressure throughout the season. Not to mention the constant pressure of expectations from fans around the world on the success of the second season.
