After more than 14 years from Drag Me to Hell, Sam Raimi is ready to return to the film genre that made him known and appreciated by the general public. The director, known for directing the Evil Dead trilogy and the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, will soon direct Send Help, a horror thriller written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon (authors of the Friday the 13th reboot) and produced by 20th Century Studios. As reported by Deadline, the female film lead should be Rachel McAdams, with whom Sam Raimi has already had the opportunity to work in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Announced in 2019 as an “untitled horror project,” Send Help is described as “Misery meets Cast Away.” According to insider Daniel Ritchman earlier this year, the film centers on Linda, an office worker, and her annoying boss, Bradley. During a business flight, their plane crashes on an island and only the two of them make it out alive. Linda has remarkable survival skills, so she’s Bradley’s only hope of staying alive. The project will be produced by Sam Raimi himself along with Zainab Azizi.
