Peka Medalu Movie Analysis:
After partying hard on Saturdays and Sundays, and his stomach is upset, on Monday you will feel calm if you eat Utta Peruganam. Pekamedalu movie is also like this perugannam. A film means an investment of hundreds of crores, a superstar cast, grander making, mesmerizing visuals, and huge sets. In all this rush, the drama which is the basic thing of the movie is sometimes missed.
If you can establish some characters weave some emotions around the journey of those characters and create drama, no matter how small a film is, it will be a big success. This is the success formula of director Ratna Dasari Narayana Rao. Pekamedalu director Nilgiri Mamilla has made sure that his story and narrative unfold in the same vein. Pekamedalu movie became a success when the story he wanted to tell was sincere and did not deviate. Because of that sincerity, the emotion has been carried in this film.
Pekamedalu does not have any sparkles on the first off. Only a few scenes are seen to establish the behavior of the characters. However.. in this entire sequence, the hero and heroine acted in competition and all those scenes were ripe. And when the character of Rethika Srinivas as an NRI woman comes into the story.. the movie picks up speed from there. In fact, the director may have deviated here and shot romantic scenes with Rethika Srinivas to give the film a commercial track. But.., Nilgiri Mamilla did not take that chance. He used to tell only the story of Lakshman and Varalakshmi. The first off ends with Lakshman showing how degraded he is as a human being.
From the second half onwards the narrative picks up speed. At the same time, the negative shade of Laxman's character is increasing and Varalakshmi's character is being highlighted. At one point all the weight of the story falls on the heroine. Anusha Krishna's acting in such a weight is really superb. Especially the scene where she confronts her husband in the pre-climax was amazing. It can be said that Anusha Krishna's award-winning performance. The way the director handled the two main characters in the climax is amazing.
Actors Performance, Technical Work:
Vinod Kishan and Anusha Krishna's acting is the main strength of the Pekamedalu movie. They acted and showed what the lives of the middle class were like. After them, there are no other main characters in the movie. Everyone else came and went like this. Technically, the Pekamedalu team has to be praised. To believe the story, they did magic while keeping a budget. Haricharan's cinematography gives the best feel. The artwork here should also be appreciated.
Even though there is no sparkle in the music, the background score is impressive. Without disturbing the emotion of the story, it is really a great thing to give RR only when necessary. I liked Nilgiri Mamilla's honesty as a director. The way he believed the story was good. Finally, the producer Rakesh Varre cannot be praised enough. Being a struggling actor and standing up for a good story like this is truly admirable.
