Alien: Romulus: With the announcement of the opening of ticket pre-sales, 20th Century Studios has released, after a series of other bloody previews, the intense final trailer for Alien: Romulus, which will hit Italian theaters on August 14, 2024, two days earlier than the rest of the world. The film, directed by Fede Álvarez, is placed between the first two films of the saga (Alien by Ridley Scott and Aliens by James Cameron).
As confirmed by its protagonist Cailee Spaeny: "It should be between the first and second film. They brought the same team from Aliens, the James Cameron film. The same ones who built those xenomorphs and created ours. So to see the original design with the original people who have been working on these films for over 45 years and most of their lives was incredible.”
Álvarez shot the film in IMAX and it will be available to watch in Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX, and other formats worldwide. This latest trailer is packed with the franchise’s most iconic monsters and, of course, the classic Xenomorph. This version of Álvarez’s franchise is reminiscent of both his Man in the Dark and The Evil Dead, blending the claustrophobic suspense of the former with the horror and brutal action of the latter.
Alien: Romulus is based on the characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. Cailee Spaeny leads the cast alongside Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. Fede Álvarez co-wrote the screenplay with Rodo Sayagues, while Ridley Scott is producing the film, the first in the series to be distributed by Disney. In the official synopsis:
Alien: Romulus will take the highly successful franchise back to its roots, as rummaging through the depths of an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
